I’ve been a writer my whole life, and if your anything like me you know the thing we fear most. That’s right, bankruptcy.
But the second greatest thing we fear in life has to be Carpel Tunnel. If we lose our hands that means we not only do we lose our means of making a living but access to our passion. Living in a world where I live in constant pain when I’m trying to do the thing I love is not a world I want to live in.
Thankfully we live in an era where us wordsmiths now have resources to tackle the ever dreaded Carpel Tunnel and write in comfort.
I present to you my top 5 Best Ergonomic Keyboards on the market!
1. Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard for Business (5KV-00001 )
This nifty looking keyboard is all about forming itself to the body’s natural angles. It features a split design to allow a normal resting position as opposed forcing your hands to fit the contorted position required by a natural keyboard. Features also include a cushion for the wrist and a wireless keypad!
2. Kinesis Freestyle2 Ergonomic Keyboard
If you liked the Sculpt, then you might want to check out this even crazier split design. The keyboard is split in two to allow for ultimate flexibility so you can find just the right angle for your unique posture. The Freestyle2 also features low-force key switches to decrease finger fatigue.
3. Logitech K350 2.4Ghz Wireless Keyboard
Tested and true, the Logitech K350 has proved its worth in the ergonomic community. This keyboard features a curved design which has been the predominant design to date. The K350 has designated shortcut buttons for ease of use, and it is also wireless. So you can technically be at your desk in the office even when you’re not!
4. Perixx PERIBOARD-512 Ergonomic Split Keyboard
The Perixx may not be the top in its class, but it gets the point across and saves you a couple of bucks in the process. If you are looking for an ergonomic keyboard and aren’t worried about a bunch of bells and whistles, it’s hard to beat.
5. Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 for Business
Think of this as your first car. It will get you from point A to B, but you probably wouldn’t want your Dad dropping you off at school in it. The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard is excellent if you are curious about the ergonomic keyboard world, but aren’t prepared to dish out too much for it. It’s the one I personally use and can testify that it is leaps and bounds more comfortable than any standard keyboard.
Pick whatever keyboard is right for you. The important thing is to take care of your hands, and they will take care of you for years to come.
